The Tata Sierra, an iconic SUV from the 1990s, is set to make a comeback in 2025 with both electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. The modern Sierra retains its classic design elements while incorporating contemporary features and technologies.
Design and Features
The new Tata Sierra showcases a modern design that aligns with Tata Motors’ current design language. It features a prominent LED light strip spanning the width of the SUV, a redesigned grille, and a robust bumper with rectangular headlamp housings, contributing to its commanding presence.



Inside, the Sierra offers a dual-tone interior with a four-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a vertically oriented infotainment system. Additional features include powered and ventilated seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof, enhancing comfort and convenience.
Safety Features
Safety is a priority in the new Sierra, with features such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) expected to be included.



Powertrain OptionsThe Tata Sierra is expected to be available with both turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is anticipated to produce 170 PS and 280 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). A 2.0-litre diesel engine option may also be offered, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission
Launch Timeline and Pricing
The Tata Sierra is slated for launch in India in September 2025, with an estimated starting price of ₹10.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
